I’ve always wanted to audition for a touring band if there was ever a spot to open up. Here’s five bands I wouldn’t have trouble dropping everything for (well just about everything.) Lofty maybe, but these are groups I admire both in musical talent and in personality. Here goes:
- Say Anything (Sure, if I was Coby I wouldn’t ever want to leave that gig, but you can dream can’t you?) 2. The Roots (Masters of their craft. I have a lot of respect for those guys. Pocket groove out the wazoo. Yes please.) 3. Death Cab for Cutie (Jason McGerr is the master of less is more, but can shred like a mother f***** when he needs to.) 4. Mewithoutyou (To be able to put a face behind the drums live makes me speechless. Not super complicated, but so powerful. One of the best physically emotive drummers I’ve EVER seen. And HOLY S*** can he pound the stank out of those drums.) 5. The Raconteurs (The idea of playing in a super gritty and true ROCK band is super appealing. Very open gig, both in interpretation and personality.)
